HAMACA
Experimental audiovisual platform that aims to preserve, distribute, and promote video practices developed within the Spanish context.
Functioning as an archive, distributor, and learning space, it is an initiative driven by the artistic community itself, launched in 2007 by the Association of Visual Artists of Catalonia. As a reference archive for video historiography linked to the Spanish state, it brings together over 1,300 key works produced from the late 1960s to the present day. The pieces in the catalogue are exhibited in cultural, educational, and social contexts, fostering dialogue between video art and its surroundings, and emphasizing the medium as a tool for constructing collective imaginaries.
lacasinegra
Collective founded in September 2009. They describe themselves as follows: «We didn’t really know how or in what way—we just knew we wanted to make films. We worked from intuition, rehearsal, and collaboration on projects that explored new forms of audiovisual expression, remix (‘Expropiaciones’), and new tools (‘Anecdotario’). We made a feature film (‘Pas à Genève’) and created a blog where we reflected, debated, and questioned—ourselves and others. Audiovisuals have been, and continue to be, a battlefield, a playground, and a space for thought».
