Subtramas

Subtramas (‘subplots’): An ongoing artistic project within the field of digital visual culture, that promotes collaborative research and production around the moving image. The focus of this research is on works which- whether from the field of collective cinema or the visual arts- manage to question the power-knowledge nexus and open up spaces for encounters and cross-connections between art, education, participatory democracy and everyday life.

Colectivo Negu

Five years ago, a group of ESCAC students who shared similar concerns and perspectives began developing collaborative projects. Their first project, Erroitz, laid the foundation for a creative journey and collaboration that continues to this day. A year later, they reflected on Catalan reality with A Rabassa Muerda, and soon after, they created the medium-length film Laiotz, shot in the Basque Country. Their most recent work, Negu Hurbilak, had its world premiere at the Locarno Festival in 2023, in the Filmmakers of the Present section, where it received a special mention.
