Sons of No-One

Starting from the discovery of a 1927 propaganda film, L'Estate Silana, made during the visit of King Victor Emmanuel III to Calabria, the collective L’Ambulante creates the film Sons of No-one using the footage not used in the original film, with the intention of pointing out how history and cinema are staged. Together with the texts, taken from the book Calabria Grande e Amara by Leonida Repaci, they search in these reels for what propaganda excluded and deliberately kept on the sidelines. Sons of No-one is a short film made during a workshop held by Gaetano Crivaro and Margherita Pisano for The Memories Film Fest, organized by the Cineteca della Calabria Association.
