Community and cooperative audiovisual production and distribution
Meet-up28.10.2311:30 h Zumzeig Cinecooperatiu Free
The different forms of production and distribution which do not subscribe to the market values that dominate the sector will be the focus of this meet-up, where we will explain the basics of a self-management model that is ethical and alternative from the different perspectives and experiences of the participants: La Selva, Drac Màgic and Culturacoop.
In this way, we will be able to share the challenges faced, the things that are lacking and the resources we have to pave the way for a broader organization that favors mutual support and cooperation.
The meet-up consists of a first part, with dialogue and debate, moderated by one of the coordinators of the CO- Festival, that will be followed by a workgroup, where we will analyze and diagnose territorial needs and then make a plan of inter-cooperative action to strengthen the collective.
___
La Selva is a cooperative that makes films and leads training programs from feminist, decolonial anti-racist and libertarian perspectives, and in a horizontal and collaborative way.
Drac Màgic is a cooperative producer of thought and action within visual culture, based around three, core elements: Construir Mirades, an educational project that trains people in audiovisual languages; the International Women’s Film Festival in Barcelona, a festival of films directed by women; and Pack Màgic, a distributor of children’s movies.
Its main values are centered around the cooperative movement, feminism, a commitment to culture and peace and an attention to diversity.
CulturaCoop is a meeting point for cultural cooperatives in Catalonia. It is a structure that serves as a common voice for all the projects it represents and its aim is to be able to affect the cultural scene from a cooperationist point of view. It promotes culture and doesn’t place emphasis on commercial or private aspects.
This activity forms part of: “Pol·linitzem amb cultura els nostres territoris” (Let’s pollinate our territories with culture), a project within the CulturaCoop’s framework.
