Ya habremos olvidado

La Rara Troupe (Leon, 2012) is a creative group founded in 2012, which works and thinks around the subject of mental health by means of audiovisual creation. Variable in size and in the diverse identities of those who make up the group in each moment, each season of work is unique and irreplaceable and forges working methods that foster a creative process that is far removed from the classic notions of authorship and the market and closer to the concepts of collaborative learning and the social procurement of people who are habitually excluded from processes of cultural construction. La Rara Troupe is a work group that forms part of the LAAV (Laboratory of Audiovisual Experimental Anthropology).

Ya Habremos Olvidado (We Will Have Forgotten, 2021) stems from the project Rodando el Límite, Autogestión y Disparate (Shooting the Limit, Self-Management and Insanity), developed between November 2019, and October 2020. The project’s name refers to the concept of limit and the border spaces that exist between what is supposedly normal and that which is left on the margins. Furthermore, the title references the tool used to create: the camera and audiovisual language, while at the same time alluding to their working methods, which are based on horizontal self-organization, and the integration of the irrational as part of their experiential practices. The La Rara Troupe collective has a long history of experimenting with collaborative audiovisual creation. This took on a new meaning in this specific project, due to the special conditions enforced by the COVID lockdown. The film had to be developed using domestic videos made by the members of the collective in their own homes and their collaborative methodology had to be implemented using virtual communication tools.
