"Otolith III" takes "The Alien", the unrealised screenplay of the legendary Bengali director Satyajit Ray, as its point of departure. Written in 1967, "The Alien" would have been the first science fiction film to be set in contemporary India. "Otolith III" returns to 1967 to propose an alternative trajectory in which the fictional protagonists of "The Alien" attempt to seize the means of production in order to create the conditions for their existence as images.

Biography
The Otolith Group es va fundar el 2002. El seu treball es basa en la recerca i abasta la imatge en moviment, el so, la performance, la instal·lació i la curadoria. Incorpora la realització de pel·lícules i l’estètica assagística basada en la postlent que exploren les anomalies temporals, les inversiones antròpiques i una alienació sintètica del que és posthumà, inhumà, no humà i la complexitat de les condicions ambientals de la vida a què ens enfrontem tots.
Entenent el comissariat com una pràctica artística de construcció de plataformes transculturals i intergeneracionals, el col·lectiu ha influït en la presentació crítica d’obres concretes d’artistes com Chris Marker, Harun Farocki, Anand Patwardhan, Etel Adnan, Black Audio Film Collective, Sue Clayton, Mani Kaul, Peter Watkins i Chimurenga al Regne Unit, els Estats Units, la resta d’Europa i el Líban.
