Four friends decide to take their recorders and microphones and follow in the footsteps of the protagonists of Jules Verne's novel “Journey to the Center of the Earth” to reach the Snaefellsjökul volcano in Iceland. They collect sounds like someone collecting stones, and the island and the strange language of its geography sucks them into a totally unexpected interior journey. The result of this journey is an immersive poetic narrative that not only guides the audience through incredible Icelandic landscapes, but also invites them to embark on a sensory journey, as another member of this expedition, in which sound is an essential element.
Biography
“The Acoustic Heritage Collective” combines its technical, theoretical and creative knowledge in a common structure that allows them to generate new professional opportunities. The group has worked together in various projects, covering a wide range of disciplines and formats that include sound creation, extended cinema, artistic installation, new media and even academic research.

Metodology
Inspired by Jules Verne's "Journey to the Center of the Earth", we took our equipment to Snaefellsjökull, the volcano that takes the protagonists of this story to the depths of the earth. Later, the project was transformed into an audiovisual one using the images and videos we recorded in Iceland. We worked cooperatively on an audiovisual version for cinema and another for virtual reality headsets. At the end of 2023 we finished the audiovisual version created especially for projection on 3 screens and for multichannel audio. The entire work was carried out collaboratively without any type of hierarchy.
