Biography

SAFICA FILMS is an audiovisual collective formed by 3 friends who are part of Barcelona’s film industry. After more than 10 years of collaborating on projects, they created SAFICA FILMS, a company with which they make personal projects. They recently acquired a Super 8mm camera, and The Volcano is the result of their first experiment with this format. SAFICA FILMS is interested in cinema that reflects on the territory and the bodies that inhabit it.

Metodology

"El volcán" is the result of a collaborative, horizontal work process. With a Super 8 camera, they traveled to Lanzarote to shoot. After two days of exploring the island and identifying locations, they spent two more days filming, passing the camera from one person to another. Similarly, the postproduction, editing, and graphics were the result of their collective work.
