Bollofilms

1987-1995BarcelonaFeminism, Political lesbianism
A lesbofeminist film creation collective founded in Barcelona in 1987 by Carme Porta and Dolo Pulido, members of the Feminist Lesbian Group of Barcelona.
Biography

These activists, with some experience in video and cinema, decided to capture various lesbian experiences in a video to celebrate June 28th of that year. The video was titled “Noies, noies, noies” (“Girls, girls, girls”) and was made in a handcrafted, DIY manner.

After this first production, Bollofilms produced “El nostre telenotícies del 28 de juny” (“Our News Program of June 28th”, 1990) and “Ens priven de gairebé tot” (“They Deprive Us of Almost Everything”, 1991).

Following two years of inactivity, the collective resumed its activity with a clear goal: to address lesbian invisibility from a feminist perspective, aiming to subvert both visual language and everyday language. In June 1994, they created “Miratge” (“Mirage”), and a year later, their last known production “La cuina a casa” (“The Kitchen at Home”, 1995).
